ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Instead of taking their charter aircraft to St. Louis, the Kansas City Royals had to cross the state by bus overnight.
A team spokesman tells KMOX that after last night’s 4-1 loss to the Cardinals at Kauffman Stadium the team boarded its charter at Kansas City’s downtown airport, but was told the plane had mechanical problems.
Team officials were told another charter wouldn’t be available for several hours, so they decided to make the four-hour trip in a couple of buses.
A team spokesman says the road trip was uneventful, and the Royals in St. Louis early a little before 4:30 this morning.
