String of ‘Smash-and-Grab’ Robberies Early Wednesday

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – There have been three more “smash-and-grab” burglaries in the area overnight.

Two happened in north St. Louis County and the other in north St. Louis. Investigators are trying to determine if they were pulled off by the same criminals.

First, someone drove into the front of the Sally Beauty Supply store in the Clocktower Shopping Center at West Florissant and I-270 in unincorporated St. Louis County. A short time later, someone smashed into the Conoco at Bellefontaine and Chambers in Bellefontaine Neighbors.

Police say they left a blue pick-up truck there but fled in another vehicle.

A short time later, someone smashed into the front of the Paradise Beauty Supply store at Goodfellow and West Florissant in the city. The burglar or burglars there left behind a heavily damaged white pick-up.

These incidents follow smash-and-grabs at a beauty store on the Halls Ferry Circle Monday and at a RadioShack in the Central West End yesterday.
