2 Dead, 1 Hurt in Cape Girardeau Shooting

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) – Two people are dead and a third injured after a shooting at a home in southeast Missouri.

The shooting happened just before 8 a.m. Thursday at a home in a well-to-do area of Cape Girardeau, a town of 40,000 residents 100 miles south of St. Louis.

Police spokesman Darin Hickey says the victims found dead inside the home were 18-year-old Matthew Joseph and 57-year-old Mary Joseph. A third person, 48-year-old George Joseph, was found alive with gunshot wounds and taken to a hospital. His condition is not known.

Hickey declined to discuss the relationship of the three. He would not say who was the suspected shooter but says police are not searching for any suspects.
