EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) - Friday night’s storm damage certainly wasn’t limited to the Missouri side of the Mississippi River.
The city administrator in Edwardsville says some of the most-expensive property damage in his community happened at the Gateway Commerce Center off Route 111.
Ben Dickmann says winds tore off part of the roof of the Hershey Foods Midwest Distribution Center, and rain poured into the building.
The structure damage and loss of inventory could total more than $3 million, he says.
As of Saturday afternoon, 8400 of the 11,000 Ameren-Illinois customers in Edwardsville remained without power. Many residents have trees damaged.
