ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – About 36,000 customers of the utility company Ameren are still without power, three days after strong storms and tornadoes struck the St. Louis area.

Most of the outages nearly 35,000 were on the Missouri side of the St. Louis region as of about 1:00 p.m. Monday.

Several tornadoes were reported in the metro St. Louis area Friday night, damaging hundreds of homes. No one was killed.

Ameren says it is more than 2,400 workers involved in the effort to restore power, including contract linemen brought in from five other states.
