ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – It was a partial victory Thursday evening for parents with kids at Grand Center Arts Academy, who did not want former Clayton High School principal Louise Losos hired at the school.
Losos won’t be the next principal at Grand Center after the Confluence Charter School board, that oversees the academy, changed its mind during the recent meeting. Losos left Clayton after being accused of posing as a teenager on Facebook.
“I was quite relieved that we’re not having someone brought in who has no arts background and has a blemished record,” says Parents Association president Mindy Carney.
The school board also decided to fire Grand Center founding principal Lynne Glickert.
“We’re not giving up on bringing Mrs. Glickert back,” Carney says.
Carney tells KMOX News that parents are glad Losos it out, but will not accept Glickert’s termination and plan to meet next Monday night.
“We want them to know that we’re still not comfortable with how they let Mrs. Glickert go and we’re still not comfortable with not knowing why,” she says.
Carney says parents would rather start the school year without a principal, than with one who isn’t Glickert.
