OVERLAND, MO (KMOX) - Sentencing is scheduled for today in the case of an Overland man who prosecutors say murdered another man he accused of giving his girlfriend a sexually transmitted disease.

Prosecutors say that as Keith Meiners, 21, strangled 19-year-old JJ Willman the night of November 27, 2010, he sang the words to the song “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked.”

Authorities say Meiners murdered Willman after inviting him to a party and giving him whiskey and painkillers. After strangling Willman, Meiners and another man left his body in a conservation area off Columbia Bottom Road.

Willman’s car was found near an Interstate 270 rest stop the next day. His body was found more than three months later.

The jury that convicted Meiners of second-degree murder is recommending he be sentenced to 25 years in prison.
