Smash & Grab at Florissant Jewelry Store

FLORISSANT , Mo. (KMOX) — Police in Florissant are searching for three suspects who smashed a stolen pickup truck into a jewelry store — the latest of many smash and grab crimes seen regionally in recent weeks.

Police say at about 5 a.m. Friday the suspects slammed the stolen blue Durango pick-up truck into Legacy Jewelers in the Flower Valley Shopping Center at Halls Ferry and Lindbergh. Then they left the truck behind and fled in a green Acura.

Officer Andy Haarmann says one of the officers responding to the call had a hunch the suspects would flee south on Highway 367 and he was right.

“That officer sitting on the side of 367 saw a green Acura speed by him and he attempted to stop it, however he discontinued that attempt just south of I-270.”

Haarmann says the truck Durango was stolen from the Sunswept Apartments, which is right behind the jewelry store. It’s not known yet what was taken from the store.
