Science Center’s Exploradome To Be Deflated
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The Saint Louis Science Center’s Exploradome will be deflated and removed to make room for the Science Center’s largest exhibit expansion.
Removal of the Exploradome will begin Monday, June 24 at 9:30 a.m on the west drive. The entrance off Oakland Avenue will be closed.
The air-supported, vinyl structure will be deflated, followed by a short ceremony featuring a science lesson for a group of summer campers.
The Exploradome opened in 1997 as a temporary facility for special events and exhibitions.
Boeing Hall opened at the Science Center in 2011 to replace the Exploradome, which lasted 16 years and twice as long as originally planned.
