ST. CHARLES, MO (KMOX)– The St. Louis Ambush will hold open tryouts in August at the team’s training facility Vetta Sports in St. Charles. The Ambush will open training camp in mid-late October and start the 2013-14 MISL season in November.
The open tryouts will be held August 3rd and 4th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and are open to male soccer players ages 18 years and older. College players with remaining eligibility are not permitted in the tryout as per NCAA rules and regulations. Current professional players must have a letter of release from their current club in order to participate.
Players will be assessed by members of the Ambush coaching and management staffs, including head coach Daryl Doran. Players who make it through the open tryouts will be invited to attend a three-day mini-camp. “We are looking to provide an opportunity to those players who wouldn’t otherwise get a chance to come out and take a shot at making the Ambush, this is a chance for players to perform in front of coaches, and management.” said Doran.
The registration fee for each player who attends open tryouts is $75.00 if pre-paid by August 1st, or $100.00 on August 1st up until the tryout. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis; walk-in players will not be granted a tryout. To register visit http://www.stlouisambush.com and click the link for TRYOUTS. All players must submit a tryout application to the Ambush office by 5 p.m. on August 2nd. Applications are available at http://www.stlouisambush.com.
