Coast Guard Searching Mississippi for Missing Woman

UPDATED 7/6/13—6pm

ST> LOUIS (KMOX) The search is continuing for the woman that fell into the Mississippi River near Grafton yesterday. She had been riding on the Golden Eagle Ferry.

The Ferry turned around to search for the woman but she had already disappeared.

The woman’s identity is not being released although officials have said she’s in her 60’s-white-with a medium build.

Lt Collin Fogarty of the Coast Guard tells KMOX that they are no longer leading the detail-having turned it over to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

St Louis (KMOX) Authorities are continuing their search this evening for a woman who reportedly fell off the Golden Eagle Ferry into the Mississippi River near Grafton around 4 this afternoon.

Lt. Collin Fogarty of the Coast Guard tells KMOX they have one boat in the water along with 4 others from several law enforcement agencies. Their is also a helicopter assisting.

The woman is described as in her 20’s–medium height wearing shorts and a white shirt.
