ST. LOUIS–(KMOX)–The stage is set for the Rams to play football someplace else, as the owners of the Edward Jones Dome tells the team it can’t afford the price set by an arbitrator to modernize the stadium.

“We want them to stay, we want them to be here,” said CVC President Kitty Ratcliffe, “But there’s a price point there that doesn’t make sense. This community has a lot of needs.”

Ratcliffe says all told it would cost $900 million to make the improvements sought by the Rams . She says Governor Nixon is now talking with the team to see if there’s anything he can do.

Barring some deal, the Rams lease on the dome is now year-to-year, and the team could leave after the 2014 season.
