The Cardinals did not have their first walk-off win until yesterday even though they are among the most successful teams thus far in the 2013 season. Ron talked about that and more with Redbirds beat writer Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com.
Though there may not be a big tournament happening this weekend in professional golf, Ron and Dan Reardon looked ahead to the 2013 Open Championship that tees off in a couple of weeks at Muirfield Golf Club in Scotland.
Ron got a house call from the ‘baseball doctor’, Ric Lessman, previewing an upcoming All-Star event with the St. Louis Metro Collegiate Baseball League.
Something new coming to the area will be the St. Charles Chill, a new hockey team that will be part of the Central Hockey League. Ron got details from Executive VP Patrick Armstrong.
The Blues, along with the rest of the NHL, spent some money over the last few days adding new players to the club. Ron talked about all the transactions with Dave Taylor, Blues VP of Hockey Operations.
In a couple weeks, the Cardinals will send at least five players to the 2013 All-Star Game. Along with an update on catcher Yadier Molina, Ron spoke with Redbirds GM John Mozeliak.
As done each year on 4th of July weekend, Ron Jacober airs the Sandi Patty version of the the “Star-Spangled Banner”. However, there was an addition made this year entitled “Freedom is Not Free | A Soldier’s Pledge“.
