Sentencing for Stepfather of Christopher Marks Scheduled For Today
AFFTON, Mo. (KMOX) –An Affton man who admitted giving his 12-year-old stepson alcohol before he drowned in the Meramec River last August was sentenced Monday to a year in prison, and two years probation.
AFFTON, Mo. (KMOX) – An Affton man who admitted giving his 12-year-old stepson alcohol before he drowned in the Meramec River last August is scheduled to be sentenced today.
Todd Combs, 43, pleaded guilty in May to seven counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Combs admitted providing alcohol to Christopher Marks and six other teens during a Sunday evening family outing at the Pacific Palisades Conservation Area.
During the outing, Marks left to use a rope swing over the river. Combs found his body two days later several miles downstream.
Investigators were never able to determine how much Marks drank before his death.
