ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOX) – Police in St. Charles are on the lookout for a woman who scammed an elderly shopper out of several hundred dollars.
It happened late last month when the 83-year-old victim walked into a Wal-Mart located at 2897 Veteran’s Memorial Parkway and was met by a white female and a black male. The white female told the victim her job was to help elderly shoppers by locating the items they wished to purchase.
After the victim allowed the suspect to assist her with shopping, the suspect then told the black male to wait in the car.
After paying for the items, the two women walked out to the victim’s car, which police say was parked in the second row, second spot. When the victim wasn’t looking, the suspect grabbed her wallet out of her purse and left the scene.
Police say the wallet contained several hundred dollars and personal items, including the victim’s driver’s license.
The suspect left in a vehicle with the black male.
The whole incident was caught on surveillance cameras and police have released the footage in hopes of tracking down the suspect.
