Relocating Creative Firm Settles in Midtown Alley
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A fast-growing creative firm is stretching out in the stretch of city between downtown and Midtown.
Midtown Alley is the area between Grand Blvd. and the Wells Fargo complex. While driving through, there are still a few grassy lots and vacant buildings, but Michael Tomko, production director at The Able Few, says it’s an up-and-coming area.
“Just down the street from where we are is what they call Agency Row so you have the majority of marketing and creative agencies in St. Louis all just down the street from us,” he said. “It’s definitely a business-y place, but it has a creative vibe for neighbors with the artist community and gallery and there’s plenty of cool little coffee shops and restaurants and, of course, Pappy’s right down the street.”
Several creative firms have also set up shop in the Cupples complex of buildings downtown, looking for the same loft-like feel that The Able Few received when it moved last week from above a Cherokee Street coffee house.
Tomko says the new space is about three times larger than the company’s former Cherokee home.
