St. Louis Officer Hit by Ricocheting Bullet

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A St. Louis police officer is being treated for minor injuries after he was shot by a fellow officer Thursday morning.

Police say the officers were investigating a theft in the 3700 block of Keokuk Street in south St. Louis when they were approached by an aggressive dog.

One officer fired a shot at the dog but the bullet ricocheted off the ground and hit the other officer. The injured officer is said to be in good spirits.

As for the dog, he ran off. Police do not know if it was injured in the incident.
