Cape Girardeau Call Center Closing, 400 Jobs Lost

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) — A call center in Cape Girardeau says it will close after losing its main client, possibly costing 400 people their jobs.

Officials at Integrity Solution Services announced Thursday that the office would close in September after Charter Communications decided to consolidate its customer service and call center operations.

Integrity official Stacy Spradling says the company is looking for a new client that would allow it to keep the office open but that is unlikely to happen before September.

She said current employees will be given preference for jobs at the company’s other offices, although none of those offices are near Cape Girardeau.

The Southeast Missourian reports the closure comes just a year after Integrity announced the expansion of its Cape Girardeau staff.
