WATERLOO, Ill. (KMOX) – Tourism in Waterloo, Ill., is receiving a one-man boost.

Andrew Juelfs, founder of Discover Historic Waterloo, hosts events on the second Friday of each month with different themes.

The theme Friday night is “Night at the Museum.”

“That consists of three museums in Waterloo,” Juelfs says. “The Peterstown House, the Bellefontaine House and the History Museum of Monroe County.”

Juelfs says it is his dream to raise Waterloo to the level of St. Charles , Mo., or even historic Williamsburg in Virginia, when it comes to bringing in tourists.

“I know it’s not going to be exactly the same, but my goal is create a hybrid between St. Charles, Missouri and colonial Williamsburg in Virginia,” he says.
