Illinois Police Uncover 100 Kilos of Cocaine in Pick-Up Truck

STONE PARK, Ill. (KMOX) – Illinois State Police, Elmhurst Police and Northlake Police joined forces to conduct an investigation in the western suburbs of Cook County in Illinois that led to an arrest after police discovered 100 kilos of cocaine in a truck bed.

On July 15 at approximately 11:38 a.m. Illinois State Police narcotics agents received a tip regarding a suspicious maroon 2005 Toyota Tacoma truck that appeared to be heading toward Chicago, driving along North Avenue, in Stone Park, Ill.

Troopers, who were working with the narcotics agents, initiated a traffic stop on the suspicious vehicle. Upon further investigation, an Elmhurst canine responded with a positive alert for narcotics.

Approximately 100 kilos of cocaine were discovered in two rubber tubs located in the truck bed of the vehicle along with $15,000 inside the pick-up truck, according to police.

The male driver was arrested.
