ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – With 42 consecutive flips, Sidney Iking Bateman of St. Louis holds the Guinness World Record for most back handsprings by a male. Bateman broke the record last week in Troy, NY.

Now Bateman is back in St. Louis performing with his circus troupe FAQ at the City Museum. His plan after this tour is to perform at least 50 back handsprings and break the all-time world record. He stopped by the KMOX studios on Friday to show off his flipping skills.

Originally from north St. Louis, Bateman, a Circus Harmony alum, is now going to school in Canada. He’s part of a selective program known for producing Cirque du Soleil performers.
