Police Identify 62-Year-Old Man Killed on I-44 Saturday

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Police have identified the man who was killed on I-44 near Vandeventer last weekend.

62-year-old Patrick Jack Lowrie, III, struck an unoccupied police car that was on the side of the interstate between Vandeventer and Grand around 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities say Lowrie’s pick-up truck was then struck by a semi-truck causing it to burst in to flames.

Lowrie was pronounced dead at the scene.

No officers were injured.

Police were originally at that location assisting a motorist with a mattress that had flown off in to traffic.

The investigation is ongoing.
