HETTICK, IL. (KMOX) – An Illinois farmer who was trapped under a tractor pulling a weed sprayer for ten hours remains hospitalized.

Macoupin County Sheriff’s officials say 66 year old Ronald Releford of Hettick Illinois was driving the tractor on a hillside when it toppled over on top of him.

That was at One o’clock Sunday afternoon. Later in the evening when his wife could not get him on his cell phone she and others began a search.

The land Releford was working on is in a different county than where he lives.

When they finally located Releford, they had to bring in heavy wrecking equipment to lift the tractor. An arch helicopter took him to a Springfield hospital with serious injuries.
