ST. LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis music community is mourning the loss of a longtime fixture who died over the weekend after falling into an open elevator shaft.
Bob Reuter died in the accident Saturday afternoon while moving into a downtown loft. Authorities say it was dark inside the elevator shaft. Reuter stepped in, assuming the elevator was there, and fell about 18 feet to his death.
Reuter was recently involved in a new band, Alley Ghost. He also hosted a weekly radio program, “Bob’s Scratchy Records,” on KDHX-FM.
The accident remains under investigation.
