CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (KMOX) – At a meeting in Chesterfield Monday night, about 50 residents said there are some serious issues with a proposed new subdivision at the corner of Clayton Road and Schoettler Valley Drive.
It would be called Schoettler Grove, made up of 31 lots over 17 acres. 17 of those lots would be reserved for villas and the other 14 for family homes.
But residents from surrounding subdivisions such as Westerly Place say Schoettler doesn’t need any more traffic and a proposed 30 foot buffer between the subdivisions wouldn’t allow for enough privacy.
“There’s going to be a lot of people in a small space and that’s just going to make a contentious environment for everyone,” one woman said.
The space that may become Schoettler Grove is currently an empty, heavily-wooded field.
The proposal is still in the planning phases. Monday’s meeting was only informational so no decisions were made about the proposal.
