St. Ann Woman Claims $100,000 Lottery Prize
ST. ANN, Mo. (KMOX) — A St. Ann restaurant manager uncovered a $100,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket.
Jennifer Stapleton, 37, purchased the winning ticket at Prince Market, 9826 St. Charles Rock Road in St. Ann, on her way home from work at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
She scratched off the winning ticket at home, where celebrations ensued.
“It was very exciting,” recalled Stapleton. “We couldn’t believe it. All of the kids got woken up. I’ve been doing the ‘happy dance’ all day long.”
She added that they returned to the store to verify the win. After it was confirmed, Stapleton began calling family and making plans to spend the windfall.
“I think we’ll do a little family vacation, and pay the bills,” she declared. “Buy a new car.”
They are all good options for the first-time Lottery winner and regular player. Her husband, Benny, noted that a new car would replace a vehicle that died a few weeks ago.
“I’d say this is pretty life-changing. It’s at a good time in our lives when we could use the money,” concluded Stapleton.
“Just keep trying. One day you’ll win,” she suggested to other Lottery players.
“20X The Cash” is a $5 game that officially began Feb. 4. Two of seven top prizes of $100,000 remain in the game. Track prizes remaining for any Scratchers game at MOLottery.com.
