Ravens Cut Illini Alum Cornell

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (KMOX/AP)- Quincy Notre Dame High (Quincy, Ill.) and University of Illinois alumnus Jack Cornell is available to any NFL team seeking offensive line help.

The Baltimore Ravens announced Sunday that the 6’6″ 315-pound lineman was released ahead of the team’s final preseason game at St. Louis.

Cornell was on Baltimore’s practice squad in 2012.

The Ravens also announced the signing of quarterback Dayne Crist, who will serve as a backup in the preseason finale because second-stringer Tyrod Taylor has been undergoing concussion tests.
