Missouri USO Unveils ‘Pies for Patriots’ Fundraiser

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The USO of Missouri has come up with a unique way to support local men and women in the military. It’s called “Pies for Patriots.”

“The Pies for Patriots goal is essentially to raise some money for the USO, for the military, by providing a product from a well-known wonderful bakery, McArthur’s,” Sara Colvin, USO Director of Special Events and Communications, explains.

In order to participate, customers simply go to the USO’s website, order an apple, pecan, or pumpkin pie from McArthur’s Bakery, and choose a pickup date and location.

In case pie isn’t your thing but you still want to help, there’s a way.

“People actually have the option to buy a pie for the military as well,” Colvin says. “If they don’t need a pie for themselves or their families, they can buy pies for the military and we will take care of distributing those to our local military who are in need.”

The deadline to order is November 1.
