UPDATE: 53 Arrested During Ride of the Century Event

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 6 people and towed 20 bikes during the Ride of the Century motorcycle rally that brought thousands to St. Louis over the Labor Day weekend. That brings the total number of arrests to 53.

St. Louis police announced Tuesday that their officers made 47 arrests and towed 58 bikes.

State Highway troopers along with St. Louis City and County officers combined efforts to combat reckless behavior of motorcyclists during the event.

Here’s the break down of numbers from Missouri State Highway Patrol:

Registration violations — 19 summonses
No motorcycle endorsement — 9 summonses
Speed — 5 summonses
No insurance — 7 summonses
No driver’s license — 2 summonses
Driving while suspended/revoked — 6 summonses
Seat belt — 7 summonses
Misdemeanor warrant arrest — 2 arrests
Misdemeanor drug arrests — 2 arrests
Tampering with motor vehicle — 1 arrest
Resisting arrest — 1 arrest
Warnings — 14
Motorcycles towed — 20
