Madison County Gets Guilty Pleas in 2 Murder Cases

Edwardsville (KMOX–Belleville News Democrat) 2 separate murder cases scheduled for trial in Madison County, IL have ended with guilty pleas.

34 year old Rodney D. Mike pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm. He had been accused of shooting Jamarco Anthony of Alton on his birthday in May 2010.

The Belleville News Democrat reports Mike received a 26 year prison sentence. He had been set to go to trial next week.

In the other case-34 year old Armondo J. Valdespino pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of Christopher Olson from Portage Des Sioux. He was found beaten and shot 3 times near Holiday Shores in June of 2006.

Valdespino was sentenced to 26 years in prison.
