DECATUR, Ill. (IRN) – ADM is giving Decatur a vote of confidence.
The company is moving its headquarters out of Decatur, possibly to Chicago, but Greg Webb, vice president for government relations, says 4,400 employees will still be in Decatur, more than anywhere else ADM has operations.
“We wanted Decatur to understand that just because we’re moving a relatively small group and re-naming a global headquarters, that Decatur remains a very critical and important asset for the company,” he testified at a hearing of the Illinois House Revenue and Finance Committee in Chicago.
With respect to which ADM employees will leave Decatur, Webb says the headquarters move won’t involve lopping off the top 100 people in Decatur. He can’t say exactly who will go, but it won’t be that.
Webb says ADM is also making contributions to Decatur schools and economic development initiatives, and, once the world headquarters moves, Decatur will be designated the North America headquarters.
