9 Year Old Boy Drowns in Downtown Hotel Pool

ST. LOUIS (KMOX)- A Saint Louis family is mourning the loss of one child in a drowning accident, while the boy’s twin brother remains in critical but unstable condition.

St. Louis city police say the two nine-year-olds were found un-responsive in the pool of the Pear Tree Inn Hotel on Market Street, Saturday afternoon.

Laron Snelson died at a hospital.

Derrone Snelson was reportedly clinging to life, Sunday afternoon.

The police department’s child abuse unit is investigating, as is standard in drownings involving youths.

The boy’s twin brother was also pulled from the pool and taken to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
