Woman Accused Of Biting Off Piece Of Girlfriend’s Lip

Kansas City, Kan. (CBS St. Louis) – A Kansas City woman says she won’t press charges against the woman who bit off part of her lip, reports WDAF-TV.

Monique Wright said she doesn’t want her 20-year-old girlfriend to get in trouble and that she wants to continue their two-year relationship.

“I forgive her for it,” she told the station. “And I don’t want anything to happen to her.”

Wright said her girlfriend was drinking and bit her lip during an argument that got out of control.

“I know she didn’t mean to hurt me like this.”

A witness told the TV station the girlfriend was taunting the victim after the Monday night incident, saying she liked the taste of her blood.

Wright was released from the hospital Tuesday.

Doctors repaired the portion bitten off with skin and tissue from one side of her lip.

The girlfriend, who is not being named, was taken into custody but has since been released.

The Wyandotte District Attorney’s Office says the case remains open, pending an investigation.

Nearly one in four women have been the victims of domestic violence by an intimate partner, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
