Cardinals Postseason Ticket Prices Continue to Climb Annually
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The average price for a ticket to Game 1 of the Cardinals’ National League Championship Series matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday night is $175.
According to SeatGeek, that’s 20 percent more expensive than the same game last year against the San Francisco Giants and 40 percent more expensive than the exciting Game 5 against the Pirates Wednesday night.
“That is a little bit surprising to see…a team that has had so much success continue to have demand going up year after year,” SeatGeek spokesperson Connor Gregoire said. “Sometimes we see fans get a little bit complacent when they’re going to see a winning team year after year but Cardinals fans apparently continue to invest year after year as their team keeps winning.”
Even though the Dodgers have been waiting much longer to get this far, prices for Games 3 and 4 in Los Angeles average $146. That could be because Dodger Stadium has almost 10,000 more seats than Busch Stadium but Gregoire didn’t think that would matter.
Usually NFL tickets sell for twice as much as MLB tickets but that’s not the case in St. Louis. The average ticket to see the Rams is $81.
The Blues have really been battling the Cardinals to get people in the seats. The resale price for a St. Louis Blues ticket is $57 this season.
