ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – It’s no surprise that the World Series is beneficial for area businesses.
“We estimate, in cooperation with the St. Louis Chamber, approximately $7.9 million per game of total economic impact for the St. Louis region,” Brian Hall, Chief Marketing Officer for the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission, said.
One of the biggest benefactors will be area hotels. Hall says they expect sellout conditions with only a few rooms available at this point on Sunday, in large part because Boston Red Sox fans travel well.
The CVC expects hotels to be completely booked not only in the city but throughout St. Louis County.
St. Louis will host Game 3 on Saturday night, Game 4 on Sunday, and – if necessary – Game 5 on Monday night.
