Actor-Comedian Comes Home With Big Announcement

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOX) – Actor-comedian and St. Louis native Cedric The Entertainer is throwing his support behind a new project at a local hospital.

He’ll be holding a concert at the Peabody Opera House, next October (10/25/2014), with proceeds going toward a women’s pavilion at SSM St. Mary’s Health Center in Richmond Heights.

Cedric’s mother, Rosetta Boyce Kyles, has been a cancer patient there.

The women’s pavilion will be named after her.

“My mother’s exceptional care at SSM St. Mary’s Health Center has inspired me to give back,” Cedric said Friday at the hospital. “What better way than to support a future women’s pavilion at SSM St. Mary’s that will enhance health care for the St. Louis community? I’m committed to making ‘A Night With Cedric & Friends’ a signature event in my hometown of St. Louis.”

St. Mary’s officials say the first phase of the project will focus on mothers, babies, and healthy families.
