Woman, 20, Injured in Fountain Park Shooting
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A woman is in critical condition after a shooting in the Fountain Park neighborhood on the city’s north side.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Aubert, just a couple blocks north of Fountain Park.
Police say someone opened fire on a group of people sitting outside. One bullet hit a 20-year-old woman, possibly in the chest.
The young woman was in critical and unstable condition. Homicide detectives took over the investigation early Wednesday.
Police began so-called “hot spot policing” efforts in the Fountain Park neighborhood and adjacent Lewis Place neighborhood a few weeks ago, making over 20 arrests.
Last week, neighborhood stabilization and board-up crews joined officers to help residents clean up the area.
