Deer Causes Head-On, Fatal Crash in Pacific

PACIFIC, Mo. (KMOX) – Swerving to avoid hitting a deer, a driver instead caused a crash that left one person dead and another seriously injured.

It happened around 6 p.m. Thursday on Old Highway 66 in Pacific.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, an eastbound pick-up swerved into the oncoming lanes and struck a car head-on, killing the passenger, 61-year-old Dennis Binkley of Pacific.

The driver of the car that was hit, 65-year-old Linda Binkley, suffered serious injuries.

Accident reconstruction teams with the Missouri State Highway Patrol were on the scene for several hours.
