Talks Begin Between A-B InBev, Teamsters

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – It’s uncharted territory as the Teamsters begin contract talks with Anheuser-Busch InBev for the first talks since InBev purchased A-B five years ago.

Local 6 Principal Officer Ron Shy said he has no idea what to expect when they start to talk economic issues. Talks on local, non-economic issues started Tuesday. Shy said they have been cordial and are going well.

Talks on wages, healthcare and pension are scheduled to begin December 2nd. They will involve local representatives from all 12 breweries and will be held in St. Petersburg.

The current contract, covering up to 6,000 teamsters, expires February 28th
