House Springs Man Who Killed Two Dogs Faces Littering Charge

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) – A House Springs man accused of slashing the throats of two puppies is scheduled to be in court Monday morning, accused of littering with carcasses, a misdemeanor.

Kyle Busby, 21, alleges the puppies were in deplorable health so he slit their throats and left them in a creek, according to the probable cause statement.

A deputy found the puppies’ bodies in the creek, not far from Busby’s home.

When asked why Busby was charged with littering and not animal cruelty, a Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson said that based on the facts of the case, that was the highest charge possible.
