ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – A record inventory of natural gas means one thing this coming winter; lower heating bills. That is, of course, if you heat your home with natural gas.
Laclede Gas president Steve Lindsey tells KMOX new technologies, like hydraulic fracturing or fracking, are allowing companies to collect more natural gas from wells.
Lindsey says natural gas is now going for 52-cents a therm compared to 54-cents per therm a year ago.
That will save the the average Lacelde customer $12 to $13 during the winter heating season.
The lower gas rates began November 1st.
