EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOX) – You can find out more about how crews plan to “slide over” the eastbound lanes of the Poplar Street Bridge at a meeting set for Thursday night.
Deanna Venker, area engineer, City of St. Louis for MoDOT says the meeting will focus on upcoming construction work for two major downtown bridges. “We’ll have our boards up of what the project is, how it is going to be planned, staged out.”
She said this upcoming project will widen the eastbound side of the Poplar Street Bridge by one lane.
“So this is that slide of the Poplar Street Bridge that everybody has heard so much about. We are going to be sliding that over, but that will be more towards 2016-2017,” Venker explained.
The open house meeting runs from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Jackie-Joyner Kersee Center. It will be postponed in the event of bad weather.
