ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – We’re not out of the woods yet. The National Weather Service in St. Louis has issued a winter weather advisory until 6 p.m. tonight.
The immediate St. Louis City and St. Louis County area should see another 1 to 3 inches of snow today. Night will bring partly cloudy skies and fridge temperatures with tonight’s low near 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
Southeast Missouri and southern Illinois are expected to see more snow accumulations tonight, as well. Some towns in Jefferson County saw 6 to 8 inches of snow from the first wave of the winter storm on Thursday.
Winter storm warnings remain in effect for the southern half of Missouri and Illinois.
After today, the next chance for snow in the St. Louis area will be on Sunday. AccuWeather meteorologist are predicting we’ll see another 1 to 2 inches of snow before Sunday night.
Sunday’s snow will mainly effect northeast and central Missouri and west central Illinois. Highs on Sunday should hover around 29 degrees.
Monday temperatures will remain very cold with a high around 26.
A slight warm up comes Tuesday with an afternoon high of around 34.
