Missouri Drops To 9th in A.P. Rankings

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMOX) – Coming off a deflating loss to Auburn in the SEC Championship game, Missouri falls from fifth to ninth in the Associated Press Top 25 college football rankings.

Auburn climbs to second place, and will most-likely play top-ranked Florida State in the BCS championship game.

Alabama moves up to third place. Michigan State is fourth, and Stanford is fifth.

Something that may disappoint Mizzou fans – South Carolina leap-frogged the Tigers by just 33 points in the voting, securing the number 8 ranking.

The SEC has seven total teams in the Top 25 this week (#2 Auburn, #3 Alabama, #8 South Carolina, #9 Missouri, #14 LSU, #20 Texas A&M, and #23 Georgia).

In the USA Today coaches poll, like the A.P. poll, Missouri is 9th this week. The Tigers trail South Carolina by 20 points for 8th place.
