Elderly Driver Killed in Head-On Crash

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) – An elderly St. Louis woman is dead, following a wrong-way crash on Interstate 44.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says 79-year-old Margie O’Shaughnessy was headed eastbound in the westbound lanes of traffic near Bowles, Friday night.

O’Shaughnessy’s car hit another car head-on, causing a chain-reaction with two other vehicles.

Troopers say O’Shaughnessy died at the scene.

Two other drivers were taken to hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.

Troopers have not said if the falling snow played a factor in the crash.
