I-55 Bandit Pleads Guilty

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The man who became known as the “I-55 Bandit” has pleaded guilty to bank robbery charges in St. Louis federal court.
Prosecutors say 19-year-old Andrew Maberry of O’Fallon Illinois admitted to robbing ten banks in five states- including Missouri and Illinois (Commerce Bank in Arnold, Mo. on 7/2/13; U.S. Bank in Crystal City, Mo. on 5/15/13; & Scott Credit Union in Edwardsville, Ill. on 5/6/13).
The FBI dubbed the suspect the “I-55 Bandit” in September, when it sent out a request for tips from the public.
Maberry surrendered shortly afterward.
Bank robbery carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and up to a quarter of a million in fines.
