Three Arrested For Collinsville Craigslist Robberies

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) – Collinsville police have arrested three people suspected of luring people with a phony Craigslist ad for a television, then robbing them.

Officers made the arrests after a third incident in which a person responding to the ad on Sunday was robbed at gunpoint.

In two earlier incidents this month people arriving to buy the television were beaten with a baseball bat. One of them was robbed; the other was able to flee.

The ad directed respondents to an apartment which was unoccupied.

Police are still looking for a fourth person they believe was involved.

The names of the suspects have not been released pending formal charges. Those charges are expected to be filed Thursday.
