ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - As the St. Louis area prepares for more snow and subzero temperatures later this weekend, doctors here continue their plea for more people to get the flu vaccine.

St. Louis County Health officials strongly advise all residents to get the flu vaccine.

The number of flu cases here has more than doubled over the last 2 weeks – 226 new ones – for a total of 617 in St. Louis County.

All across Missouri, new flu cases continue to be confirmed. More than 1,300 new ones last week, for a statewide total of 4,080. That’s 415% higher than the 800 cases typically seen around this time of year in Missouri.
