FLORISSANT, Mo. (AP) – A busy St. Louis area roadway is closed due to a water main break, and the break is being blamed for an accident.
KMOV-TV reports that the break occurred late Monday night on Highway 367 in north St. Louis County, near Interstate 270. Frigid weather conditions the temperature at the time was well below zero caused water to freeze as it hit the road.
A driver lost control on the ice and crashed. Injuries were reported from the accident, but the number of victims and details about their injuries were not immediately available.
Authorities expect the highway to reopen Tuesday afternoon.
