ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – 2014 is starting off with some good news for Ameren Missouri power customers. Those customers can expect to see a drop in the fuel adjustment charge later this month.
Robert Kenney, chairman of the Missouri Public Service Commission, said the lower tariff that kicks in January 27th will translate to lower electric bills.
“What this will mean for the average residential consumer is a decrease of about $1.13 a month,” he said.
In its filing with the PSC, Ameren Missouri explained the decrease reflects changes in its fuel and purchased power costs over the summer of 2013.
Ameren Missouri has about 1.2 million electric customers, mostly in the central and eastern parts of the state.
